Product Care Instructions
Caring for Your Furly Products
Our handcrafted wool and sheepskin products are designed to last for years with proper care. Follow these simple guidelines to keep them looking and feeling their best.
Daily Maintenance
Shake & Air Out
Regularly shake out your pet's bed or blanket to remove loose hair and debris. Air it outside or in a well-ventilated area to keep it fresh.
Brush Gently
Use a soft-bristled brush to gently brush the wool fibers in the direction of the nap. This helps maintain fluffiness and removes surface dirt.
Remove Pet Hair
Use a lint roller, rubber brush, or damp cloth to remove pet hair between cleanings.
Spot Cleaning
For Minor Stains:
- Blot (don't rub) the stain immediately with a clean, dry cloth
- Mix a small amount of wool-safe detergent with cool water
- Gently dab the stained area with the solution
- Rinse with a cloth dampened with clean water
- Blot dry and air dry completely away from direct heat
Deep Cleaning
Hand Washing (Recommended):
- Fill a basin with cool water (never hot)
- Add a small amount of wool-safe or gentle detergent
- Submerge the product and gently agitate by hand
- Let soak for 10-15 minutes
- Rinse thoroughly with cool water until soap is removed
- Gently squeeze (don't wring) to remove excess water
- Lay flat on a clean towel to air dry, reshaping as needed
Important: Never machine wash or tumble dry wool or sheepskin products, as this can cause shrinkage and damage the natural fibers.
Drying
- Always air dry flat on a clean, dry towel
- Reshape the product while damp to maintain its form
- Keep away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and radiators
- Allow 24-48 hours for complete drying
- Brush gently once dry to restore fluffiness
Storage
When storing your Furly products:
- Ensure they are completely clean and dry
- Store in a cool, dry place with good air circulation
- Avoid plastic bags - use breathable cotton storage bags
- Keep away from moths by using natural cedar or lavender sachets
What to Avoid
- ❌ Hot water (causes shrinkage)
- ❌ Harsh detergents or bleach
- ❌ Machine washing or drying
- ❌ Wringing or twisting the fibers
- ❌ Direct heat or sunlight for drying
- ❌ Dry cleaning chemicals
Natural Characteristics
Wool and sheepskin are natural materials, so slight variations in color, texture, and density are normal and add to the unique character of each piece. Minor shedding may occur initially - this is completely normal.
